Power Electronics Engineer

We are looking for a senior electrical engineer with excellent knowledge and experience in power electronics. Your role will be to participate in the design of electronic circuits and systems. You will be involved in various stages of projects such as ideation, drafting specifications, defining architecture and technological choices, design, production support, certification, and much more. As a senior engineer, you will also be called upon to engage with clients to fully understand their needs.

You will work closely with your colleagues, including engineers, technicians, and programmers, with the common goal of efficiently realizing projects and delivering reliable, secure, and high-performance products. You will be required to conduct training sessions in areas of your expertise and participate in multiple design reviews.

Your responsibilities include:

— Analyzing needs and defining client requirements.

— Actively participate in the development and testing of power electronics solutions, particularly converters and inverters.

— Contribute to the development of technical specifications for electrical and electronic systems.

— Power electronic board design.

— Carry out technical studies and draw up electrical diagrams to support developments.

— Carry out power balances, tests and characterizations on prototypes to ensure compliance with requirements.

— Write study documents, test plans and characterization reports to document the results obtained.

— Actively participate in various reviews, including architecture, detailed design, placement, routing and characterization plans, to ensure the quality and consistency of the proposed solutions.

— Develop and share expertise within the multidisciplinary team, supervising and encouraging the autonomy of junior engineers and technicians.


Your qualifications:

— Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, with a specialization in power electronics.

— Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

— At least 5 years' experience in the development, testing and debugging of power electronics equipment, and at least 3 years' experience in the development, testing and debugging of electronic control boards.

— Solid knowledge of electronic circuit simulation and analysis, using tools such as LTspice, PSIM or similar industry tools, as well as board design, using tools such as Altium, Cadence or equivalent.

— Excellent command of laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, low- and high-voltage power supplies, measurement probes, etc.

— Good knowledge of analog electronics (transistors, mosfets, inductors, amps, etc.).

— Interest or experience with the Agile methodology is an asset.

— Excellent communicator (both spoken and written).

This is a full-time permanent position of 40 hours per week or a reduced schedule based on your needs, offering social benefits, a competitive salary, and flexible working hours. The workplace is in the city of Terrebonne, with the option for telecommuting.
